Suryakumar Yadav is known for playing outrageous cricket shots in white-ball cricket. In the last few months, he has tormented bowlers around the globe. In the 20-20 World Cup 2022, he was the third-highest run-getter with more than 280 runs. The right-hander recently scored his second T20I hundred during the T20I series against New Zealand. Meanwhile, in the second ODI against the same team, he once again showed his skills.

In the rain-abandoned game, the Mumbaikar played a switch hit. This happened in the 12th over of India’s innings, bowled by Michael Bracewell. On the fourth ball of the over, Yadav decided to switch to being a left-hander right the ball left Bracwell’s hands. The 32-year-old played the shot over the third man boundary for a maximum. After this, the video of the incident has been doing rounds of the internet.

Talking about the game, it was abandoned after India played 12.5 overs in the game. The Men In Blue were asked to bat first by the Kiwis. After batting for 4.5 overs, both teams headed back due to rain interruptions. After struggling, the groundsmen managed to clear the ground. The game was reduced to 29 overs a side. After playing for 12.5 overs, the rains arrived and made sure the game doesn’t restart.

After the game, the skipper of both teams spoke about the weather. India skipper Shikhar Dhawan said “It [weather] is not in our control. You just have to wait. Cannot help it but now looking forward to the next game.” On the other hand, New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson said “A bit disappointing, the weather seems to be following around us. But we did well to get some cricket. A good team performance in the first ODI. Latham played a fantastic innings. Looking forward to Christchurch now.”
