In the eliminator game of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2023, Mumbai Indians thrashed Lucknow Super Giants by 81 runs at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. After winning the game, MI took a flight to reach Ahmedabad to play Qualifier 2 against Gujarat Titans on Friday. However, ahead of that game, a prank video is going viral on social media.

In a video posted by the franchise, Star batter Suryakumar Yadav can be seen doing a prank on Tilak Verma. In the footage, Yadav can be seen asking for a lemon from one of the flight attendants, only to squeeze it on a sleeping Varma, who had no idea what was going on. MI posted the video with the caption “Chain se sona hai to jaag jaao”. Varma, who can be seen in the video questioning his teammate, “Kya hai is mein (what is it),” was left in humorous confusion by the 32-year-old batter.

Here is the video:

Notably, Mumbai Indians put up yet another clinical performance against Lucknow Super Giants to qualify for Qualifier 2. They are now just two wins behind clinching that prestigious IPL trophy. MI will need to beat Gujarat Titans in Q2 to face Chennai Super Kings in the finals.

Suryakumar Yadav and Camron Green helped MI to win

Talking about the game, MI didn’t get a great start after opting to bat first. Both openers Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma were dismissed cheaply. However, Camron Green, along with Suryakumar Yadav, added 66 runs for the third wicket. Yadav, in his innings, scored 33 runs off 20 balls with the help of two boundaries and as many sixes. On the other hand, Green, in his innings, scored 41 runs off 23 balls with the help of six boundaries and a six.

However, in the end, a brilliant bowling performance from Akash Madhwal helped MI to defend 182 runs in Chennai. Madhwal, in his spell, just gave five runs and clinched five important wickets, including Nicholas Pooran and Ayush Badoni. Madhwal became the first bowler to take five wickets in a playoff game in IPL history. Now, MI would like to continue their dominance against GT on Friday.
