Virat Kohli is known for looking for singles and doubles while batting irrespective of the format he is playing. Over the years, fans have seen him converting ones into twos. He has been doing the same in the ongoing 20-20 World Cup 2022 in Australia. As the boundaries are bigger in size compared to other venues outside Australia, it is important for batters to look for extra runs.

Meanwhile, in the last game of the Super 12 round between India and Zimbabwe, the former India skipper was doing the same. However, after completing the second run, he was holding his knees and his chest aftermath. The incident happened during the seventh over of India’s innings. At this stage, vice-captain KL Rahul and Kohli were batting at the crease.

The incident caught the eye of the TV commentators. Sunil Gavaskar on air said “He is such a quick runner between the wicket. Always looking for the extra run. You could see that the moment he played it, he knew where the fielder was, knew the power that he had. And so, the second was always going to be on. Just giving himself a little bit of a breather.”

Talking about the game, the 2007 winners thrashed Zimbabwe by 71 runs to top the Group Two table. They had already qualified for the semis after the Netherlands knocked South Africa out of the tournament early in the day. With this win, the Men In Blue will play the second semifinal on November 23 against England. The 2010 winners last played the final in 2016 and lost to the West Indies.

They also qualified for the semis last year, only to lose against New Zealand. On the other hand, the Rohit Sharma-led side would like to qualify for the final after 2014. Eight years back, they lost to Sri Lanka in the final after being unbeaten in the entire tournament. The India vs England semifinal will be played at the Adelaide Oval.
