 WBBL 2022: Watch Brisbane Heat player takes catch of the season contender against Melbourne Renegades

In the recently-concluded ninth game of the Women’s Big Bash League 2022, Brisbane Heat’s Grace Harris took a great catch. The incident happened at the start of the seventh over of the Melbourne Renegades innings. In a video that is going viral, Hayley Matthews played a lofted cover drive and timed it well enough. However, she couldn’t time it well enough.

Apparently, the West Indies player was caught at covers by Harris. The right-hander was going well with 31 runs off 17 balls including six fours. However, her innings was cut short thanks to the athleticism from Harris. This could be one of the contenders for the catch of the tournament. Meanwhile, the video of the catch is going viral. It was been watched by more than 3700 people and has gotten more than 100 likes.

Talking about the team, the former champions, Heat batted first after losing the toss. However, it turned out that it was a good toss to lose for the Brisbane as they amassed 180/1. Wicketkeeper batter Georgia Redmayne scored an unbeaten 98 off just 67 balls including 12 fours. Her opening partner, Grace Harris scored 65 off 50 balls. The duo put up an opening partnership of 165 runs in 18 overs.

In reply, the Red Brigade (Melbourne) got off to a great start thanks to Heyley Matthews. However, her wicket turned out to be a turning poit for the team. The team kept losing regular wickets which resulted in the team being restricted to 159/6, losing the game by 21 runs. With this loss, the Rengades Net Run Rate (NRR) has dropped to (-0.445). The Western-Melbourne based team will be looking to improve on the NRR in the tournament going forward.

On the other hand, the Heat have now won two back-to-back games after losing their first game of the season.
