India’s win in the 2007 20-20 World Cup under the leadership of MS Dhoni is still etched in fans’ hearts and it marked the beginning of a new era under the former Indian wicketkeeper. To add more to it, it was in 2007, India faced a dismal exit in the 50-over World Cup and the victory in the inaugural edition of the 20-20 World Cup changed fortunes for the Men in Blue. 

The Dhoni-led team eventually went on to defeat Pakistan in the summit clash and create history by winning the first edition. As things stand, the epic tournament featuring India’s win is all set to become a documentary and the same will be made available to all in 2023. 

Concerning the documentary, it will be a multilingual web series, featuring 15 cricketers and an A-list actor and the series will eventually be released in the approaching year. Reports claim that two-thirds of the documentary is completed and One One Six Network, the production house based in the United Kingdom, will release the much-awaited documentary. While Anand Kumar is all set to direct the series, Saurabh M Pandey is all set to do the writing for the same and the series has not been titled yet. 

India hope to bounce back post woebegone outing in 20-20 World Cup 2022

The Men in Blue, under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, had a sepulchral outing in the recently concluded multinational tournament in Australia. Although they managed to reach the knockouts, the lack of intent in the semis against England was highly criticised by fans all around the world. 

While the team might undergo multiple changes, the Hardik Pandya-led team are facing off against New Zealand in a three-match T20I series, and the first match of the same was abandoned without a ball being bowled on November 18, Friday. 

The next T20I will be played on Sunday and the Men in Blue would hope to win the game and take an early lead in the series. Post the conclusion of the series, India will play as many ODIs under the leadership of Shikhar Dhawan set to get underway on November 25.
