 Zimbabwe vs India, 2022 – All The Details You Need To Know About The Series

After winning both the T20I and ODI series in England, India is currently busy playing in West Indies. Top players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma got rested from the ODI series in the West indies. Hence, Shikhar Dhawan led them to a 3-0 victory in that series. However, maximum players returned to the setup for the five-match T20I series. Now, India is leading that series by 2-1, with two more matches to go.

On the other hand, Zimbabwe is busy playing a home series against Bangladesh. They also defeated the visitors by 2-1 in the three-match T20I series. Now, they will be in action against them from 5 August for three ODI matches. After that, India will visit Zimbabwe after six years to play three ODIs from 18 August to 22 August 2022.

Shikhar Dhawan will lead India during the three-match ODI series in Zimbabwe   

Speaking of the series, Indian selectors have given rest to senior players. Hence, Shikhar Dhawan will lead again. Both KL Rahul and Virat Kohli were expected to be added. But, Kohli decided to take more rest while KL Rahul needed more time to get recover from Covid-19.

However, this series can be a good test for some young players ahead of the mega events like the Asia Cup and T20 World Cup. This series will help the Indian Team management to look at the bench strength ahead of the major tournaments later this year.
