On Tuesday, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated the Gujarat Titans (GT) in Chennai, to go to their tenth Indian Premier League final. The team captained by Hardik Pandya, who had placed first in the points table, will have another opportunity to advance to the final, but they will face the will be facing five-time champions, Gujarat Titans (GT) in the Qualifier 2 of IPL 2023, which is scheduled to take place on Friday, May 26.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni made his final appearance in Chennai on Tuesday of the 2023 season. It will keep prolonging his career: Dwayne Bravo

“Frankly, it takes a heavy toll. I have been out of the home for literally four months. I will always come to CSK. I have been out of home since January, been practising since March, so we will see, January 31 was when I got out of the house, finished my work, and started practising from the 2nd or 3rd of March. It takes a lot, but I have ample time to decide. I have 8-9 months to decide. Why take that headache now? I have ample time to decide. The auction is in December” Dhoni said at the post-match presentation after winning the last game of the season at Chepauk.

Dwayne Bravo, a former teammate of Dhoni from CSK and the team’s bowling coach, has appeared to confirm that Dhoni will participate in the next season. When anchor Mayanti Langer questioned Bravo following the game about if Dhoni would be wearing the coveted yellow shirt, Bravo said, “100%.”

“100 per cent. Especially, with the Impact Player rule. It will keep prolonging his career. He bats really deep. I think the likes of Ajinkya Rahane, (Shivam) Dube… these guys make a huge difference. You don’t require much from MS. But he has the ability to keep his calm when the team is under pressure,” Bravo stated and Matthew Hayden and Krishnamachari Srikkanth, who were seated next to Bravo throughout the interview, were delighted by what the 39-year-old opined.
