The first round of the ongoing 20-20 World Cup has seen two players from Group A qualify for the Super 12 Stages. After winning two games each, Sri Lanka and the Netherlands advanced to the next round. Sri Lanka had a poor start to the tournament, but they bounced back to dominate and win their next two games. The Netherlands, on the other hand, put up a consistent performance through the first round.

Naturally, the team was ecstatic with their qualification for the next round. However, the match between UAE and Nambia held the fate of the Dutch in the competition. UAE defeated Namibia by a narrow margin of just seven runs. Had Namibia managed a win, they would have qualified for the Super 12 Stages.

After the match between UAE and Namibia, the scenes in the Dutch dressing room were absolutely crazy. As soon as the game ended, the players jumped in joy. None of them could hold back their celebration. The video of the same has gone viral on the internet ever since.

Since the Netherlands ended in second place in Group A, they will now be in Group 2 along with India, Pakistan, South Africa, Bangladesh, and another qualifying team. They will play their first game of the next stage against Bangladesh on the 24th of October at Bellerive Oval in Hobart. The team has found itself in a challenging group, but they will be eager to do well in the tournament.

In the meantime, two more teams from Group B are yet to qualify for the Super 12 Stages. The winner from the West Indies vs Irelands game and the winner from Scotland vs Zimbabwe game will qualify for the next stage. The Semifinal of the mega event will be played on the 9th and the 10th of November, while the final will be played three days later, 13th of November, at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
