India and Bangladesh are all set to lock horns in the two-match Test series starting Wednesday in Chattogram. Ahead of the first Test, the Indian team sweated hard in the nets on Tuesday. Star batter Virat Kohli was also seen toiling hard in the nets to prepare for the all-important series for India in the context of the World Test Championship final. The former Indian captain was seen in his usual fun-loving mood while batting against Axar Patel.

Kohli smashed the left-arm spinner down the ground for a massive six and was later seen teasing him over it.

Watch the video of the incident here:

The star India batter went through the fitness drills before enjoying a fun game of frisbee. Kohli first took throwdowns before walking to the other end of the ground to have a knocking session against the likes of Mohammed Siraj, Umesh Yadav, Ravichandran Ashwin and Axar Patel. The session lasted nearly 40 minutes as he played some confident and attacking strokes.

The 34-year-old recently returned to form after having a tough time with the bat throughout this year. He finished as the highest run-getter in the 20-20 World Cup last month. He further regained his form in ODIs in the third match of the recent ODI series against Bangladesh by scoring a magnificent hundred in the format after a wait of over three years.

Kohli to end his century drought in Tests in the Bangladesh series?

Having found his form in white-ball formats, the star batter will be looking to end his century drought in the longest format as well. Kohli’s last Test hundred came against Bangladesh at Eden Gardens, Kolkata in 2019. Since then, the Delhi-born batter has failed to score big and managed to score just 872 runs at an average of 27.25. Kohli has a phenomenal record against Bangladesh where he’s scored 392 runs in five innings at an average of 78.40 having two hundreds to his name.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh will be looking to take some inspiration from their recent ODI series victory against the ‘Men-in-Blue’ and will look to give them a tough time in the Tests as well. Bangladesh are yet to beat India in a Test match. Out of the 11 Tests played between the two teams, India have dominated with nine wins while two ended in a draw. The series holds tremendous importance for India to qualify for the final of World Test Championship as more than one loss in their remaining six games could dent their chances of reaching the final.
