Watch: New Zealand accidentally ‘slaps’ Imam-ul-Haq during second Test
Pakistan cricket team isn’t having the best of times since December 2022. Coming off the high of the 20-20 World Cup 2022, they got the reality check when they played the three-match Test series against England. The World Cup finalists were battered and bruised by the Three Lions as they cleanly swept the home side. For the first time in their history, the Asian side has been clean-swept at home.
Now, in the ongoing two-match Test series against New Zealand, they are yet to win a game. The first game ended in a draw as they let the visitors make a strong comeback in the first innings of the game. Meanwhile, the ongoing second game isn’t going well for them either. After reducing the Kiwis to 304/6 on Day One, the Babar Azam-led side let the advantage slip.
The Tim Southee-led side amassed 449 all-out, thanks to the last-wicket partnership of 104 runs. In reply, Pakistan was 36/0 when Imam-ul Haq got accidentally slapped by New Zealand wicketkeeper batter, Tom Blundell. In the video, it is presumed that the latter was practicing his over-arm throw. However, he failed to realize that Haq was standing close to him. Subsequently, the Pakistani opening batter got slapped. Notably, Blundell apologized quickly and no harm was done.

Meanwhile, Haq has once again missed out on his century in the ongoing series against New Zealand. In the second innings of the previous game, the left-hander stepped out of the crease and got stumped out on 96. In the ongoing second Test, he tried to play a cut short without using his feet.
Apparently, the Red Kookaburra hit the toe end of the bat and it landed straight into the gloves of Blundell. At the time of writing, the team has reached 226/4 with former skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed and Saud Shakeel stitching a partnership of 45 runs and counting. They are trailed by 222 runs. The winner of this game will end up winning the series.
