India pacer Jasprit Bumrah is yet to play a competitive game since being ruled out of the 20-20 World Cup last year. He played against Australia in the first T20I in September last year. After the game, Bumrah sustained a stress fracture and was ruled out for an indefinite time. Meanwhile, when the team for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar, the right-arm pacer was said to make his comeback in the third Test.

However, it is now reported that the Gujarat player is now ruled out of the entire series. As per reports, an Indian Cricket Board has said that it is quite impossible for Bumrah to be 100 percent. He added that no matter which series India plays, the premier pacer wouldn’t be rushed. Meanwhile, as per the official, Jasprit’s fitness is doubtful, and might take another month to be back to fully fit.

“It’s very unlikely that Jasprit will be at his 100% for the Australia series. One thing is certain, no matter which series we play, he won’t be rushed back again. Back injuries take time and rehab is a lengthy process. At this moment, he is unfit for selection and how long it will take for him to return is still doubtful. It will take another month or probably,” a senior Indian Cricket Board official told InsideSport.

I am hoping Jasprit Bumrah plays the last two Tests against Australia: Rohit Sharma

On the other hand, India skipper Rohit Sharma was about Bumrah playing against Australia recently. The former said that he would hope the right-arm pacer plays the last two games against the Aussies.

“Not too sure about Bumrah, I am hoping he plays last two Tests against Australia. We don’t want to take any risks with him as back injuries are always critical. We have a lot of cricket coming back after that also. We are in constant touch with physios and doctors in NCA. The medical team will give him as much time as he wants,” Rohit Sharma said at the post-match press conference after the IND vs NZ 3rd ODI.
