‘Future of Pakistan’ – Fans react as Mohammad Haris guides B-Love Kandy to victory against Jaffna Kings in Eliminator of LPL 2023

In the Eliminator of the Lanka Premier League (LPL} 2023, B-Love Kandy (BLK) locked horns with three times champion, Jaffna Kings (JK) at the R. Premadasa Stadium, in Colombo, Sri Lanka on Thursday, August 17. B-Love Kandy won the match by 61 runs and star Sri Lanka leg-spinner, Wanindu Hasaranga was awarded the Player of the Match award for his match-winning spell.

If we talk about the match, Jaffna Kings skipper, Thisara Perera won the toss and elected to bowl first. BLK while batting first scored a total of 188 runs with the loss of eight wickets after the completion of the first innings. The highest scorer for the side was Mohammad Haris who scored 79 runs off 49 balls with eight fours and four sixes in his innings. Their wicketkeeper, Dinesh Chandil scored 41 runs from 24 balls which included six fours and a six in his innings.

Wanindu Hasaranga stars for BLK as he picks six

For JK, the pick of the bowlers was Nuwan Thushara, who grabbed four wickets in his spell of four overs where he conceded 40 runs. Two wickets each were bagged by Maheesh Theekshana and Asela Gunaratne in their respective spells of four overs where they conceded 37 runs and 41 runs respectively in their spells.

The Jaffna side while chasing 189 runs, was bundled out for 127 runs by the BLK. The highest scorer for the side was Shoaib Malik who scored 31 runs off 23 balls with three fours and a six in his innings. South African batter, David Miller scored 26 runs from 20 balls with two sixes in his innings but that was not enough for the side to go past the total.

For BLK, Hasaranga snapped six wickets in his spell of 3.2 overs where he conceded just six runs in his spell. One wicket each was grabbed by Mujeeb Ur Rehman, Sahan Arachchige, and by Nuwan Pradeeo in their respective spells where they conceded 45 runs, 23 runs, and 24 runs respectively.
