Technically sound and endowed with grace and elegance, he was a specialist in technique and made sure that his stance, back lifts, bat flow, helmet, and gears were in order before he could play any stroke. The cover drive and the straight drive were two of Tendulkar’s finest shots. He is a person who raised the collective heartbeat of a country. As soon as Tendulkar’s wicket fell in any match, everyone wanted to turn off their televisions.

Just before he turned 50, the Little Master received a wonderful present. Arjun Tendulkar, his son, made his IPL debut for the Mumbai Indians. In the first few games, Arjun performed admirably. He even held off Sunrisers Hyderabad for 20 runs in the last over and got Bhuvneshwar Kumar out. Prior to joining Goa, Arjun played domestic cricket for Mumbai.
