The Indian Cricket Team is currently participating in the Asia Cup 2023. They have qualified for the Super 4 stage of the competition along with Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. The Men in Blue is currently locking horns with the Green Brigade in their first fixture of the Super 4 of the ongoing Asia Cup. The match will be played at the R.Premadasa Stadium, in Colombo, Sri Lanka on Sunday, September 10.

If we talk about the match, Pakistan’s skipper, Babar Azam won the toss and elected to bowl first. While batting first, the Indian openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill came onto the crease and started attacking the bowlers of the Men in Green from the first over. Both the batters put on a partnership of 121 runs before the India skipper was sent back to the pavilion after scoring 56 runs off 49 balls with six fours and four sixes in his innings.

Every game is important for us: Rohit Sharma

The match was stopped due to rain after the completion of 24.1 overs of the Indian innings. Former India skipper, Virat Kohli is batting on eight runs from 16 balls, and star India batter KL Rahul is batting on 17 runs from 28 balls which included two fours in his innings. As per the playing conditions, if no play takes place today, then the Asia Cup 2023 match will continue from the same point where the match is stopped right now.

“Looking to bat first. There will be a challenge upfront, but the way we guys batted last time around gives us confidence. Every game is important for us, but one thing at a time to focus on. (On rain delays) That’s the nature of the sport, it gave us a good time to prepare and now we’ll look to play well. Two changes – Bumrah is back and one forced change, Shreyas Iyer just got a back spasm so KL Rahul comes in for him,” Rohit was quoted as saying during the toss.
