Ashes 2021-22: Australia, England reveal playing XIs for Sydney Test
The ongoing Ashes has been a horrid ride for England. The team is 3-0 down in the series and are staring at a clean sweep. England have now lost 12 Tests in a row in Australia since their win in the 2010-11 series.
The visitors will now be playing for their pride in their remaining two games. The fourth Test in Sydney gets underway on January 5. The team has looked off colour and there have been calls to make changes into the playing XI. However, England have not made heaps of changes to their playing XI for the Sydney Test. They have only brought in Stuart Broad in place of Ollie Robinson. Broad has only featured in the second pink-ball Test.
Meanwhile, Australia have also announced the playing XI for the match. The hosts have made one forced change as Travis Head has been replaced by Usman Khawaja. Head was recently tested positive for COVID-19. Khawaja last played for Australia in the 2019 Ashes. Scott Boland has retained his place in the team. Josh Hazlewood has still not fully recovered from the side strain.
Australia XI: Marcus Harris, David Warner, Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith, Usman Khawaja, Cameron Green, Alex Carey (wk), Pat Cummins (c), Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon, Scott Boland
England XI: Haseeb Hameed, Zak Crawley, Dawid Malan, Joe Root (c), Ben Stokes, Jonny Bairstow, Jos Buttler, Mark Wood, Jack Leach, Stuart Broad, Jimmy Anderson
