India won the 4th Test in Ranchi against England by 5 wickets. After that win, India led the five-match Test series by 3-1, which helped them eventually win the series. After the first innings England led by 46 runs but India made a strong comeback in the game in the third innings and Rohit Sharma and co won the series after Dhruv Jurel’s heroics.

Dhruv Jurel scored the final run and he got a warm hug as he scored runs across to Shubman Gill. The unbeaten 72* run stand takes India to an unassailable 3-1 series lead. The dressing room is all smiles, It has been a hard-fought Test, but India won the big moments on Day 3 and 4. Tom Hartley was tossed up the ball on the leg-stump line, Jurel nudged behind square on the on-side and rushed back for the second.

Dhruv Jurel wins the series for India

India secures the five-match Test series by 3-1. 23-year-old batter from Agra Dhruv Jurel, is the hero of the Ranchi Test. India started today’s play at 40 for 0, India lost the first wicket at 84. England skipper Ben Stokes kept changing the field and hoping for the batters into false shots, but it was India’s day and they wrapped up the match with 5 wickets to spare.

After winning the toss England made 345 in the first innings. Thanks to Joe Root for his unbeaten knock of 122 in the first innings. India was struggling at one time. India lost 7 wickets for 177 runs. Dhruv Jurel, who took India out of danger. Jurel scored a brilliant knock of 90 to take India 307 in the first innings.

Shoaib Bashir took a fifer. In the second innings, India’s spin bowler came strongly in the game. Ravichandran Ashwin took a fifer and Kuldeep Yadav took four wickets. England looked clueless. They lost their last six wickets for 35 runs. They set a target of 192.

India’s opener Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal started their innings brilliantly. They added 84 runs for the first wicket. At one time India was 120/5 but Gill and the hero of the first innings, Dhruv Jurel clinched the victory for India. It’s the first series loss for Ben Stokes as a skipper of England.

India led the series by 3-1 with a Test to go in Dharamsala on March 7, the series is won, but there are 12 WTC points up for grabs. Both of the teams want to finish the series on a high note.
