Babar Azam’s savage reply to a journalist who asked him to disclose chat with Virat Kohli after 20-20 WC win
The biggest highlight of the recently concluded 20-20 World Cup was Pakistan’s first win over India in the showpiece event. The Babar Azam-led team displayed great character and dominated India from ball one. They beat India by 10 wickets and fittingly, it was the skipper who managed to hit the winning runs and gave millions of people back home a reason to celebrate.
Virat Kohli, who was the captain during the 20-20 World Cup was gracious enough to accept the defeat. He went up to Azam and Mohammed Rizwan and congratulated the duo for their fantastic achievement.
Azam, who is currently gearing up to face West Indies for T20I and ODI series, was asked about the conversation he had with Virat Kohli. The Pakistan skipper was in no mood to disclose the chat between him and his Indian counterpart gave a savage reply to the journalist. “Ji zaroor hui thi. But, ab sabke saamne thodi bataunga. (Yes, we did. But I won’t tell you in front of everyone).”
After beating India, Pakistan went to beat New Zealand, Scotland, Afghanistan, and Namibia to finish the Super 12 stage on top of the points table. However, Pakistan suffered a heartbreaking loss against Australia in the semi-final.
Pakistan though managed to bounce back in style and beat Bangladesh in 5-0 in three ODIs and two Tests respectively. It has been a good year for Pakistan and they would hope to finish on a high against West Indies.
