Star India all-rounder Shardul Thakur tied the knot with his fiancee Mittali Parulkar on Monday, February 27. He is the third Indian cricketer to get married after KL Rahul and Axar Patel. This year Pakistan cricketers Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Shadab Khan also get engaged to their better halves. The couple has been dating each other for quite a few years and they got engaged back in 2021 in November. The seamer is set to play for the Kolkata franchise in the upcoming season of the Indian T20 League which is scheduled to begin on March 31.

The couple was looking astonishing in their wedding pictures that the Mumbai-born cricketer posted on social media. Men in Blue skipper Rohit Sharma and the Kolkata franchise skipper Shreyas Iyer were present at his wedding along with his Mumbai Ranji teammate Siddesh Lad and the Kolkata franchise mentor Abhishek Nayar was also spotted on his wedding rituals. Rohit and Iyer were seen in the pre-wedding festivals before leaving for Indore for their third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy which is scheduled to start on Wednesday, March 1.

Shardul Thakur to return for Australia ODI series

The Mumbai franchise skipper’s wife Ritika Sajdeh and Yuzvendra Chahal’s wife Dhanashree Verma were also seen at the 31-year-old’s sangeet ceremony. Earlier, during the Haldi and Sangeet ceremony, Shardul was seen dancing with Mittali to Bollywood songs sung by Iyer and the photos and videos of this event went viral in no time.

Shardul Thakur is set to make his return to the national team in the upcoming ODI series against Australia in March. After the completion of the BGT 2023, India will lock horns with the Kangaroos in a three-match ODI series that will be played in Mumbai, Visakhapatnam, and Chennai on March 1, March 19, and March 22, respectively. The seamer was last seen in the ODI series against New Zealand earlier this year.

So far, the former Chennai franchise all-rounder has featured in  8 Tests, 34 ODIs, and 25 T20I games for India. Shardul played for the Delhi franchise in the Indian T20 League last year and scored 120 runs at a strike rate of 137.9 while taking 15 wickets in 14 games.
