Australia’s star cricketer, Beth Mooney, took charge once again as skipper of the Gujarat Giants in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024. Notably, the left-hander played in just one game during WPL 2023 before being sidelined by grave injuries. The 30-year-old cricketer had to pull out of the game due to injury after only three balls in the game against the Mumbai Indians at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in Mumbai.

However, star batter Sneh Rana took the onus and led the side. Meanwhile, Sneh Rana will serve as Mooney’s deputy in the 2024 WPL. Beth Mooney had expressed his happiness after returning to the Gujarat Giants as the skipper of the team. In addition, the left-handed batter is confident of performing well in the WPL 2024.

“I am delighted to be back with Gujarat Giants and grateful for the team’s trust in me. We have a fantastic squad, and I am confident we will put up a good show. It is good WPL will be played in Bengaluru and New Delhi, which are new to the tournament,” Beth Mooney said.

Meanwhile, India’s batter Sneh Rana also expressed happiness after skipper Beth Mooney returned to the squad. The 29-year-old cricketer is set to support the skipper and is confident of putting up a great show in WPL 2024.

“The second season of WPL will be another festival of cricket. That Beth is back as a skipper is fantastic news, and I will do everything I can to support her. The squad is well-balanced, and we are in a good place as a team,” Sneh Rana said.
