‘Bhagwan ke liye budget nahi hota’: Yuzvendra Chahal hilariously trolls Shardul Thakur

India all-rounder Shardul Thakur and Yuzvendra Chahal were involved in a cheeky banter. Thakur asked Yuzvendra Chahal about how much money the Indian T20 League teams will play for him. Thakur played for Chennai last year but he wasn’t retained by the team ahead of the player retention. According to rules for the mega auction, only three players were allowed to be retained by any franchise.

Meanwhile, in a funny conversation with Chahal, the all-rounder asked about how much money the ITL teams will invest in him. The leg-spinner, in a cheeky way, said ‘Bhagwan ke liye budget nahi hota’. The conversation was recorded in a video which is supposed to be during India’s tour of South Africa. The conversation is as follows

Shardul: Mere liye budget kitna hai?

Rahul: Base price

Chahal: Bhagwan ke liye budget nahi hota

The 31-year-old was referring Thakur as ‘Lord’ for which the latter is famous on social media.

The Palghar-born player has played for Punjab (2015-2016), Pune Supergiants (2017), and Chennai (2018-2021). He has become a match-winner for the team in the last year. He scored his first Test fifty against Australia at the Gabba and took a four-wicket haul which helped India win the game and the series. In September last year, he broke the record of fastest fifty in Tests for India in England by reaching the landmark in 31 balls. Recently he scored 50 and 40 not out against South Africa in the two ODI he played.

Both Chahal and Thakur can be hot picks for the ITL teams in the upcoming mega auction, to be held on February 12 and 13. Both players were not retained by their respective franchises and every team would love to have a leg-spinner and a pace-bowling all-rounder in the team.
