After losing the last fixture against Delhi Capitals (DC) by four wickets at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, in Delhi on Thursday, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) faced up against the four-time champion Chennai Super Kings at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Ajinkya Rahane, a great Indian batsman, received the Player of the Match award for his outstanding performance as the Super Kings defeated the opposition by a score of 49 runs.

CSK, while batting first, scored a mammoth total of 235 runs with the loss of only four wickets. The highest scorer for the side was Rahane, who played an unbeaten knock of 71 runs off just 29 balls, which included six fours and five sixes in his innings. In the post-match presentation, the former vice-captain of Team India said that he feels that his best is yet to come.

Chennai Super Kings to play Rajasthan Royals next

“Just had a clear mindset. If the thing between your ears is right, your mind is right then you’ll be fine. I’m just trying to enjoy my game. The wicket was a bit sticky, but once you are in you have a great chance. We had a great start, and after that, I wanted to play my shots and keep the momentum. I’ve enjoyed all my knocks so far, I still feel the best is yet to come. It is a great learning, I’ve played under Mahi bhai for India for many years, and now even at CSK, it has been a great learning. If you listen to whatever he says, you will more often than not perform,” Rahane said in the post-match presentation.

MS Dhoni-led CSK, after winning yesterday’s match against KKR, went to the top of the points table with 10 points from seven games, whereas the Knight Riders are in eighth position with just two wins out of the seven matches they have played so far in the cash-rich league. The Super Kings would be locking horns against Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Thursday, April 27 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, and on the other hand, KKR would be playing against the defending champions, Gujarat Titans (GT) on Saturday, April 29 at the Eden Gardens, in Kolkata.
