Former India skipper Virat Kohli‘s poor form in Test has continued in the ongoing first Test against Australia. His last Test fifty came against South Africa early last year. Since then, he played against Sri Lanka (Home), England (away), and Bangladesh (away). In the five games played against these sides collectively, he struggled to score even a fifty against them.

In the ongoing first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, the Delhi player was expected to do well. After all, since the Men’s Asia Cup 2022, the right-hander has been in great form in white-ball cricket. Not to forget, he scored three ODI hundreds and his maiden T20I hundred in the last few months. However, in red-ball cricket, the 34-year-old is still in need of runs.

Meanwhile, Kohli came out after Cheteshwar Pujara failed to keep the sweep shot down and was caught at short fine leg. At 135/3, the former India skipper was expected to do well. He got off the mark with a straight drive down the ground off Todd Murphy. Before going into the Lunch Break, the 2008 U19 World Cup-winning captain scored 12 runs with two fours.

However, on the first ball of the ongoing second session, he was caught down the leg side off Murphy. Since then, the fans aren’t happy with his performance.
