Big Bash League – Match 24, Sydney Thunder vs Perth Scorchers – Preview, Playing XI, Live Streaming Details and Updates
Sydney Thunder will meet Perth Scorchers in the ongoing 11th edition of Big Bash League (BBL) on Tuesday (December 28). The Thunder managed to have a good start in the competition by beating Brisbane Heat in their first game. However, they have slipped a little bit as they managed to win just one game and lose four.
The only positive sign for the franchise has been they are placed third on the points table. Thunder though would want to start winning and solidify their place at the top, as Hobart Hurricanes and Heat are berthing down their necks. Thunder’s batting has failed to get going collectively. It has either been one or two players contributing and getting the team over the line. Alex Hales has not hit top form like last year. The right-hand batter has been out before the power play in the majority of the games.
Thunder’s middle order has also not got going. On their last loss against Sixers, the Chris Green-led side were all-out for just 142. The batters need to pull up their socks a bit. Meanwhile, the Scorchers ticked the batting and bowling boxes well. The team has won six games on the bounce and seems to keep getting better.
Mitchell Marsh and Aston Agar have been the chief contributors to the wins. The former has scored 249 runs with the bat while the latter has picked 10 wickets in six games. The rest of the players like Cameron Bancroft, Andrew Tye, Colin Munro, and Turner have also played their roles well. The Scorchers have looked dominant and ruthless so far.
