‘Bohot sahi batting kar raha…’ – Rinku Singh reveals MS Dhoni’s golden words after maiden India call-up

Star batter Rinku Singh finally got a debut India call-up for the men’s cricket competition, which will take place in September–October at the Asian Games 2023. The left-handed batter produced a spectacular IPL 2023 edition while representing the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), and several anticipated that it was only a matter of time before he earned his first India cap.

The 25-year-old cricketer already showed that he could turn out to be absolutely the finisher India needs in the shortest format by producing a few heroic knocks for KKR moving down the order. The southpaw produced an incredible strike rate of 149.53 while scoring 474 runs in 14 games at 59.25 in the recently concluded IPL.

The Uttar Pradesh born-cricketer disclosed the insightful words of advice he got from former India skipper MS Dhoni during their conversation following the match between CSK and KKR. “The chatter with Mahi bhai (MS Dhoni) was really productive. He has also batted in similar numbers as I do – at 5 or 6 – and he has done it for the majority of his career, and knows the position in and out. I simply asked him how to better my game, and his advice was very simple: “Bohot sahi batting kar raha hai, jo tu kar raha hai, wahi karta reh (You are batting really well. Continue whatever you have done so far),” Rinku said on RevSportz, as quoted by Hindustan Times.

Everyone dreams to play for India: Rinku

Rinku Singh continued on to express that every cricketer hopes to represent India, and it’s what keeps him motivated across the years. He remarked that he is not highly concerned with the future & just embraces every moment as it comes. “Everyone dreams to play for India, wear that jersey. I don’t think a lot about the future because the more you think, the more burden you put yourself under. I take life as one day at a time. But yes, whoever takes up professional sports wants to represent their country one day or the other,” he added further.
