India’s short tour of Ireland came to a disappointing end after the final T20 game on Wednesday got washed out. Jasprit Bumrah in the end was the happy captain as he was leading the Indian team for the first time in T20 cricket. The final result of the series was 2-0 in favor of team India. This result comes in the wake of India’s first bilateral series defeat in a while after the 3-2 reversal against West Indies.

There was a ray of hope when the rain relented and it seemed we could be in for a short game. That hope though was washed away after the umpire’s inspection, as there was a lot of damage done to the outfield. The game was called off late on Wednesday Indian team and India took the series with 2-0 result.

The Indian team will now travel to Sri Lanka to take part in the 2023 Asia Cup. The tournament begins on 30th August, with Pakistan taking on Nepal in the opening game at Lahore. India will play all its games in Sri Lanka after the Indian cricket board refused to play in Pakistan. India begins its campaign with its first game on 2nd September with the game against Pakistan at Pallekele.
