Jasprit Bumrah is arguably the best pace bowler in the world at present. He strikes fear among the best batters in the world with his unorthodox bowling action, impeccable accuracy and toe-crushing yorkers. He has already proved his mettle in all parts of the world.

When Bumrah first appeared in the scene his longevity was a point of question because of his very unorthodox action. Even critics were of the opinion that Bumrah’s exploits will only be limited to the shortest format of the game. But after his debut for India in 2016, the bowler has only grown in stature in all formats of the game. He is at present the spearhead of the Indian bowling lineup across all formats.

Bumrah’s is not only a national but also an international sensation at present. Bowlers across the world try to bowl like the Indian star. On Monday, 4th April, Cricket Australia shared a video clip from the Sheffield Shield final between Victoria and Western Australia on their official Twitter handle. The clip was of Nic Maddinson pulling off a “Bumrah” delivery, leaving the commentators in splits.

The match was moving towards a draw as both the teams made most of the perfect batting conditions and scored heavily in their first innings. The Victorian middle-order batter Nic Maddinson decided to have fun imitating Jasprit Bumrah.

As the video went viral, the stunt on the part of Maddinson did not go down well with Indian fans. They were quick to respond to the clip with hilarious replies, even calling Maddinson a ‘Chinese copy of Bumrah.’

Notably, Jasprit Bumrah was instrumental in India’s first-ever Test series win in Australia. He picked up 21 wickets in the series. He was brilliant again in the next series. In the first three Tests he picked up 11 wickets. In the last Test of the series Indian was forced to field one of the most inexperienced bowling lineups ever. He missed the test because of injury, but was seen guiding the young Indian bowlers from the sidelines.
