Before this match, Rishabh Pant needed only 80 runs to cross the 2000-run landmark. However, he did it in style as he smashed a scintillating knock of 146 runs.

Doing so, he became the fastest wicket-keeper to achieve this feat in the history of Test cricket. This was also the fifth hundred of his career and among them, four came in overseas tours. He scored all these four overseas hundreds in 23 matches only while other Indian wicket-keepers scored the same number of overseas hundreds in 260 matches.
