Gayle has had great ties with India, especially in the Indian T20 League. He was a part of many teams including Kolkata, Bangalore, and Punjab. His best run was with Bangalore, playing over 90 matches for the team and scoring over 3400 runs at an astonishing strike rate of 154.40. He was let go by the team ahead of the 2018 mega auctions. He was then picked by the Punjab team and played for them in the remaining seasons.

However, he did not get a lot of chances to play in the 2021 season. The 42-year old has not registered himself in the upcoming mega auctions for the tournament. It is being speculated that Chris Gayle might have played his last game in the Indian T20 League.

Chris Gayle played for the West Indies in 103 Tests, 301 ODI’s, and 79 T20i’s. He scored close to 10500 runs in the ODI’s. Gayle officially has not announced his retirement but it is expected that he will not play for West Indies ever again.
