Former Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli once again failed to make an impact as was dismissed on a golden duck in the ongoing game against Lucknow. In the 31st game of the Indian T20 League, Lucknow won the toss and elected to bowl first. In the first over of the innings, pacer Dushmantha Chameera took the wicket of Anuj Rawat (4), who was caught at mid-off by opposition skipper KL Rahul.

However, the dismissal was referred to the third umpire by the on-field umpires. The reason for that was the lack of clarity on whether the ball was cleanly grabbed by Rahul or not. Replays showed that the fingers of the fielder were under the ball which meant that Rawat’s innings was ended way too early than he would have liked.

Kohli came to the crease after the dismissal, with not much form behind him. In the six games played in the season, he has hit two 40s, one against Punjab and another against Mumbai. Fans were expecting a big score from the batting maestro. However, the right-hander was caught by Deepak Hooda at the point position.

The 33-year-old poked at the delivery outside the off stump. The ball hit the outer part of the bat and went straight to Hooda at point.. Talking about Kohli’s form with the bat, he has only mustered 119 runs in the seven games, averaging 19.83.

On the other hand, after taking the wicket of Kohli, Chameera was on a hat-trick on the first ball of his next over. He came into bowl the third over of the innings with opposition skipper Faf du Plessis on strike. The Sri Lanka pacer pitched a full delivery outside the off-stump. Du Plessis smacked the ball for a boundary.  At the time of writing, the Bangalore has reached the total of 64/4 in 7.5 overs.
