Cricket Australia (CA) have given a green signal to their upcoming Pakistan tour. The board was hesitant to give the approval following the withdrawal of New Zealand and England from their tours owing to security issues. However, both Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and CA seem to have reached terms now. The schedule for the series has been announced by the PCB. The series will get underway on March 3, with the first Test in Karachi. Rawalpindi will host the second Test from March 12-16, while the final Test will be played in Lahore from March 21-15.

The first ODI is scheduled for March 29 in Lahore, while the remaining two games will be played on March 31 and April 2 at the same venue. Lahore will also play host to the only T20I of the series on April 5. Australia’s confirmation is a shot in the arm for PCB, whose reputation was dented by the withdrawal of New Zealand and England from the series.

In another boost, West Indies will also visit the country in December 2021. The Men in Maroon will play three ODIs and as many T20Is. If Pakistan successfully manages to host both the teams, it will help them convince other big teams to come and play in Pakistan.
