Absolutely thrilled for my brother. I can't think of anyone better to take over the reins of a franchise we both had grown up in. All the best @imjadeja . It's an exciting phase and I'm sure you will live up to all the expectations and love #yellow #csk #WhistlePodu

Timing has always been the key for MS. Well done on your leadership and mind blowing results over the years for CSK. Would like to see him finish on a high.

#MSDhoni quits as captain never in a million years did i think it was possible! What a leader @msdhoni has been and what a legacy he leaves for @imjadeja to carry the baton of the best team in the Ipl by a mile @ChennaiIPL!

Knowing #MSDhoni𓃵 , this is so typical of him. No one quite knows what #Dhoni exactly thinks but whatever his thought process, the team is always supreme in any of his decisions. I think it's also good for #jadeja that he can learn a lot from him on the field. #CricketTwitter

We use the expression "end of an era" very loosely sometimes. But Dhoni giving up the captaincy of @ChennaiIPL is truly the end of an era for all those loyal fans with whom he forged a relationship of the kind very few have.

Notably, under MS Dhoni CSK has played 12 seasons. In these 12 seasons, MS Dhoni captained Chennai in 204 matches. The team won 121 matches out of these 204 matches. Chennai played 9 finals under Dhoni’s leadership and won 4 titles. He will be remembered as one of the greatest captains in the tournament’s history. However, Dhoni is to continue playing as a player for the franchise for ‘this year and beyond.’
