‘Doglapanti band kr daily ka’ – Fans express displeasure as Gautam Gambhir calls Ricky Ponting ‘s***’ while comparing with Rohit Sharma
Rohit Sharma and Ricky Ponting played for India and Australia respectively in different eras. The latter played for the Aussies from 1995 to 2013. On the other hand, Sharma made his debut for the Men In Blue in 2007 and is currently leading the team across formats. Ponting did the same from 2002 to 2011 and led the team to title wins in the 2003 and 2007 World Cup.
Also, the Kangaroos won the Champions Trophy in 2006 and 2009. On the other hand, Sharma led the team in the 20-20 World Cup in 2022. Apart from this, he was part of the 2007 20-20 World Cup and 2013 Champions Trophy winnings sides. Meanwhile, Gautam Gambhir compared the two during the second ODI between India and Sri Lanka. He used foul language while comparing the two.
“He is a better player than Ricky Ponting, because Ricky has got a sh** record in the subcontinent.” Gambhir said while speaking on Star Sports.
Rohit Sharma has a better record than Ricky Ponting in the subcontinent
In 87 ODI played by Ponting in Asia, he amassed 3109 runs at an average of 39.85 including six hundred and 19 fifties. On the other hand, Sharma, who is born and bred under these conditions, has dominated in the Asian conditions. He averages 95.22 after playing 5221 runs in 125 games including 14 hundreds and 26 fifties.

you can't compare nohit with ponting. In ponting's era there weren't 5 players inside the 30-yard circle

Kohli can't be compared to Sachin because rules were hard but Rohit is better than ponting. Also using this kind of language isn't good. Gautam dogla gambhir

Ricky ponting perfoms in world cup knockouts and he is captain who lead from the front, don't make this chutiya comparison by comparing ponting to rohit

In ODIs Ponting has almost 40 avg in subcontinent, which is very good considering he has to face some of the finest spinners in the world in 90s and early 20s … Rohit wasn't even considered for selection in 2011 WC …Ponting will always be above Rohit in ODIs and tests.

When Virat Kohli can't be compared to Sachin Tendulkar, Rohit Sharma cannot be compared to Ricky Ponting. End of Story.

Gambhir should be ashamed of himself talking about player like Ponting. Ponting is a legend player with exceptional record winning 3 ODI world cups and over 50 average in both tests and ODIs.
