Rajasthan Royals is playing host to their Indian neighbours Delhi Capitals in the 11th match of the sixteenth edition of the Indian Premier League. Delhi is coming into the game on the back of two consecutive losses in their opening two games. Their last loss came against the Gujarat Titans at the Arun Jaitley stadium in Delhi.

The host team, Rajasthan Royals also came into the game on the back of a loss against Chennai Super Kings in a high-scoring encounter, which went right down to the wire. They would be hoping to get back to winning ways in the Indian Premier League. Delhi Capitals won the toss and decided to bowl first and made a whole list of changes, which included dropping Prithvi Shaw. Rajasthan went ahead with Jos Butler in the line-up, in spite of him suffering from injury and that proved to be a key decision as he played an important innings for Rajasthan.

Regular openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Butler opened the innings for Rajasthan Royals as they started firing boundaries for fun from the first over itself. The youngster Yashasvi smacked Khaleel Ahmed for five fours in the first over and they continued the pressure right till the end of the powerplay. The duo accumulated 68 runs in the first six overs and didn’t lose their wicket to put pressure on the Delhi players. Jaiswal completed his fifty in just 25 balls, but later on, got dismissed by Mukesh Kumar, who was the pick of the Delhi bowlers as he scalped the wicket of  Butler as well.

Butler didn’t look like he was injured as he took his time and supported the innings and tried to slog at the end but failed. Sanju Samson got a rare duck and Riyan Parag didn’t make the most of his promotion. Due to a late push from Shimron Hetmeyer and Dhruv Jurel, the side to a good score of 199 after 20 overs.

How did the Delhi Capitals Innings start?

Prithvi Shaw was the impact player for Delhi as he replaced Khaleel Ahmed and that proved to be a costly decision as Trent Boult got him out for zero. Manish Pandey, who came to the crease, departed after facing the first ball as he was adjudged LBW by the umpire leaving the Rajasthan team in utter joy. It would be a tough task for Delhi going forward from here.
