Erling Haaland equals England superstar’s unique record after scoring match-winning goal against Brentford

Manchester City registered a 1-0 victory over Brentford in their 25th Premier League fixture this season and with the win they move closer to the top of the table just behind Liverpool at 56 points in 25 matches whereas Liverpool is just one point above at 57 points in their 25 fixtures. Erling Haaland proved to be the man of the moment for Man City by scoring the only goal of the match in the 71st minute.

Haaland has been the man for Manchester United ever since he joined the club through the summer transfer window of 2022 when the club triggered his release clause of 51.2 million Pounds. His debut season was exceptional, setting records and playing a crucial role in securing their continental treble.

Ever since he joined Man City from Dortmund he has been a prolific performer for them. After the recent match-winning goal against Brentford, Haaland etched his name in the record books as Erling Haaland levelled England’s superstar Harry Kane’s record of scoring goals against all the 21 teams he has faced till now in the Premier League.

It does not end here, it was Haaland’s seventh time when he scored the first goal in a Premier League match this season and it is also his fifth winning of the season only to be matched by Ollie Watkinson who has also scored five match-winning goals in this season.

Man City coach lauds Erling Haaland on his sensational comeback

Manchester City’s coach Pep Guardiola was all praises for Haaland as he was out of the game for two months due to an injury and even lost his grandmother last week. Despite all the adversities, Haaland came back stronger which is what makes him a modern-day superstar.

Speaking after the match, Guardiola said, “Sooner or later always they are there. He was out for two months (injured). He had an incredibly tough week last week, he lost his grandmother and it’s not easy for a human being. But he scored when he’s not in his best shape at the moment. He’s so tall, out for two months. We spoke about the moment but he didn’t say anything about the passing of his grandmother.

He further stated, “We talked a little about how he feels and of course (it was tough) for his father. In these types of games, especially against Brentford, you need Erling.”
