Esports organization Mad Kings part ways with Dota 2 roster

Following a permanent ban on professional Dota 2 esports player Steven “StingeR” Vargas for Mad Kings, the organization has announced the release of their entire Dota 2 team.

The decision came after the 27-year-old pro was caught in a ban wave while playing against Thunder Awaken in the South American closed qualifiers for Dreamleague Season 22. Mad Kings entered the Dota 2 esports scene back in 2017 however, they haven’t been able to make it big till now.

“We recognize and respect the rules established by Valve, which we accept and promote as an integral part of our organization. Due to these rules being broken, we have decided to end our collaboration with estar_backs,” Mad Kings said in a statement.

The former Roster included –

David “Parker” Nicho Flores
Ricardo “Alone” Fernandez
Frank “Frank” Ayala
Miguel “Michael-” Gomez
Steven “StingeR” Vargas

Why was StingeR banned?

On January 17, StingeR was caught in a ban wave among other Dota 2 players. The bans were reportedly handed for smurfing or account boosting. A general consciousness was that StingeR also used Smurf accounts or account boosting.

This became more widespread as his teammate, David “Parker” Nicho Flores, was also found using StingeR’s account. With the new information, people simply assume the ban was for account boosting.

However, following his ban, StingeR has clarified that the ban was not for smurfing or account boosting but for other reasons. He did not specify the actual reasoning behind the ban.

Mad Kings’ next move

For now, the organization have announced that they will not be participating in tournaments for a while, however, their content creation side will be unaffected. The esports org also did not say they are entirely out of the Dota 2 esports scene. Players may see the org back with a new line-up very soon.
