FIFA president spotted clicking selfies at Pele’s funeral, images go viral
At the fag end of 2022, the world mourned the death of Brazilian Football Legend, Pele. On December 30, the four-time FIFA World Cup winner breathed his last at 3:27 PM Brazil time. Meanwhile, the Southern American nation and the football fraternity are mourning his death, and the FIFA president, Gianni Infantino was seen clicking selfies at his funeral. This hasn’t gone down well with the netizens.
He has been severely criticized for the lack of basic etiquette. The image has been doing rounds on social media. On the other hand, the family is yet to react to the matter. Meanwhile, the FIFA president has urged Football associations across the globe to name a stadium in their country after the deceased.
“We have asked all football associations in the world to pay a minute of silence before every game and will also ask them, 211 countries, to name a stadium after Pele. Future generations must know and remember who Pele was,” Infantino was quoted as saying.

Pele’s funeral was held for two days
Brazil’s outgoing president, Jair Bolsonaro, after the death has announced a three-day mourning on the passing of the legend.
“Official mourning is declared throughout the country, for a period of three days, counted from the date of publication of this Decree, as a sign of regret for the death of Edson Arantes do Nascimento, Pele, a former football player,” Brazilian news outlet G1 quoted Bolsonaro as saying.
On the other hand, Pele’s former club Santos had said: “The body of the greatest football player of all time will be laid to rest at Estadio Urbano Caldeira, in Vila Belmiro, where he enchanted the world.
