FIFA World Cup 2022, Group F: Croatia outclass Canada 4-1 as latter crash out of tournament
The FIFA World Cup 2022, hosted by Qatar, kicked off on November 20 and the hosts eventually bowed out of the biggest sporting event, on the back of their poor outing in the tournament. As things stand, on November 27, Sunday, Canada and Croatia locked horns with each other and it was the latter who came out on top on the back of their stupendous efforts.
To add more, three goals in total, came in the first half and Alphonso Davies, the player from Canada, kicked off the game for his team as he created history by scoring the first-ever goal for the country in the history of the FIFA World Cup. Concerning the goal, it also became the fastest goal to be registered in the history of the tournament as he scored it within 2 minutes into the game.
While the Maple Leafs dominated the game for the most part of the first 45 minutes, Croatia eventually managed to make a comeback and scored two quick goals in no time. Regarding Croatia’s goals, it was Andrej Kramarić who scored the initial goal for the team in the 36th minute, backed by a goal from Marko Livaja in the 44th minute, taking the lead to 2-1.

The Vatreni, however, carried on with the momentum and continued their dominance in the deciding half as well. While the Maple Leafs created more opportunities to match the lead in the second 45 minutes, the team, however, failed to live up to the expectations and score the equaliser.
Much to the stupefaction of the spectators, Kramarić grabbed a brace in the 70th minute and Lovro Majer scored a goal to his name in the extra time just before the final whitsle, taking the lead to 4-1, making things tough for Canada. The Canadian players looked in disbelief as they crashed out of the sporting event on the back of their back-to-back losses in the FIFA World Cup 2022. The Vatreni would hope to carry on with the momentum and make it count in the Round of 16 stage, although it remains to be seen if they can fare out well against top-ranked teams.
