Five Biggest Controversies of Indian T20 League
1.2013, Spot Fixing: One of the darkest times of the history of the Indian T20 League was when the allegation of spot-fixing disgraced the game in 2013. Three players from the Rajasthan franchise and members of the administrative set-up of the Chennai team were charged with spot-fixing allegations.
Three players of the Rajasthan team namely Ankit Chavan, Ajit Chandila and S Sreesanth were arrested by the Delhi Police. The most affected of the lot was Sreesanth as he was a part of the then Indian bowling set-up. All three players were banned for life by the BCCI, however, the ban on Sreesanth was lifted in 2020. Sreesanth was also seen participating in the recently concluded Vijay Hazare Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy.
