3. Using a fake name for marriage: Virat Kohli tied the knots with Anushka Sharma in 2017 after the two dated for quite some time. Virat and Anushka kept most of their love life a secret while they were dating. They took great measures for their marriage to also be carried out in secrecy, avoiding as much attention as possible.
According to Anushka Sharma, Virat probably faked his name as Rahul. All this was done to avoid as much attention as possible in a personal affair.
4. Seen abusing the youngster Ishan Kishan: The incident dates back to 2017 in a league match of the Indian T20 League between Bangalore and Gujarat. The incident was quite uncalled for as Virat Kohli was already a superstar of the game and Ishan Kishan was just a rising talent.
The incident happened in the second innings of the match when the Gujarat team was chasing Bangalore’s score of 213 runs. Virat was frustrated as the Bangalore bowlers were taken to the cleaners by the Gujarat batsmen. His frustration got better of him and burst out when Ishan ducked bouncer as the superstar hurled abuses at the youngster. Ishan was unfurled by Kohli’s attitude and smashed a huge six off the very next ball giving a befitting reply to Virat’s abuses. Bangalore however won the match in spite of a brilliant fight by the Gujarat batsmen.
5. Differences with Anil Kumble Anil Kumble is a legend of Indian cricket. However, during his tenure as the Indian team’s head coach, reports of strife with the then Indian captain Virat Kohli was ripe.
Reportedly Virat was upset with the fact that the veteran spinner did not back his players. Well, the differences ultimately led to Anil Kumble stepping down after Champions Trophy 2017.
