‘Great but win trophy’ – Fans go berserk after Bangalore win most matches in last season of Indian T20 League
The Bangalore franchise have been one of the most competitive teams in the history of the Indian T20 League. Still, they haven’t been able to win the trophy a single time. However, Bangalore have been consistent over the past few years as they qualified for the playoffs in 2020, 2021, and 2022. Bangalore have won a total of matches in 2021 and 2022.
Bangalore won nine matches out of their 14 league matches in 2021 under the captaincy of Virat Kohli. However, they lost to Kolkata in the eliminator and were knocked out of the tournament. After that in 2022, Bangalore won eight matches in the league stage under the new skipper Faf du Plessis. Bangalore then went on to play Qualifier 2 by defeating Lucknow in the eliminator.
Delhi is the second team after Bangalore to win the most matches with 17 wins combined in 2021 and 2022. Delhi finished the 2021 league stage by standing at the top of the points by winning 10 matches out of 14 under the leadership of Rishabh Pant. However, they went on to lose Qualifiers 1 and 2 against Chennai and Kolkata. In 2022, Delhi failed to make it into the top 4 as they won only seven matches during the league stage.
