 ‘Heartbroken’ – Cricket fraternity reacts as Lata Mangeshkar passes away

Legendary Indian playback singer Lata Mangeshkar passed away at the age of 92. The veteran was diagnosed with COVID-19 and was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in January.

Lata Mangeshkar was a gem of India and served the country in many ways. In a career that lasted over 70 years, she sang many iconic songs. She was the recipient of the Dada Saheb Phalke award in 1989 and Bharat Ratna in 2001. She also had three National Film Awards, 15 Bengal Film Journalists’ Association Awards, four Filmfare Best Female Playback Awards, two Filmfare Special Awards, Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in her cabinet.

Lata Mangeshkar was a diehard cricket fan as well and was always in praise of the Indian team. The cricket fraternity was shocked by the demise of Lata Mangeshkar and took to Twitter to mourn her death.
