Chennai and Bangalore are currently locking horns with each other in the 22nd match of the Indian T20 League on Tuesday at Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy. Batting first, Chennai got off to a poor start as they had lost 2 wickets for just 36 runs in 6.4 overs. Chennai, at that stage, were in deep trouble.

However, Shivam Dube then joined hands with Robin Uthappa and the duo led the team’s sensational recovery. Robin Uthappa and Shivam Dube counter-attacked and wreak havoc at the DY Patil Sports Academy. At the time of writing, Chennai have notched 216 runs at the end of the first innings.

Meanwhile, Bangalore players can be seen wearing black armbands in the ongoing game. A lot of fans asked the reason behind that. For those of you who don’t know, the players are wearing black armbands in a bid to pay tribute to a bereaved Harshal Patel.

The RCB seamer, reportedly, left the team’s bio-bubble hours after the match against Mumbai because of her sister’s demise. The tragic news came out after the match against Mumbai. As for now, there is no update on Harshal Patel’s availability. The Bangalore seamer will have to undergo a three-day quarantine on his return before joining the squad. His absence has hurt the team badly on Tuesday. Chennai have notched a mammoth score of 216 runs in the first innings. Bangalore need 217 runs to win the match.

Harshal Patel has been Bangalore’s biggest bet in the bowling department since last year. The Bangalore seamer was the highest wicket-taker last season. He picked as many as 32 wickets in 15 matches at an average of 14.32. This season, he has 6 wickets to his name in 4 matches at 14.67. Harshal Patel returned with exceptional figures of 2 for 23 runs in 4 overs in his game against Mumbai. There is no denying that he will be key to the team’s fortune going ahead in the tournament.
