Rajat Patidar might make his Test debut against England in the series second match in Vizag. Patidar, who has already made his ODI debut for India, is looking forward to finding out whether he will play his maiden match in whites on Friday, February 2nd.

Rajat Patidar remarked in a video released by the Indian Cricket Board before the second Test match that receiving his maiden Test call-up was memorable. The batter was sidelined for much of the 2023 season due to an Achilles Heel ailment. Rajat Patidar missed the Indian Premier League, which was a major loss to the Royal Challengers Bangalore team.

“Getting my first Test call-up soon after my recovery has to be my happiest moment. It is my dream to represent my country in Test cricket. It felt very good to get that call. I was playing India A matches and it felt really good,” Rajat Patidar said in an interview.

The batsman is intended to add strength against spin bowling. Patidar discussed being around the India camp and how he had learned many new tactics from Rahul Dravid and Rohit Sharma.

I always monitor Virat Kohli when he is in the nets – Rajat Patidar

“I’ve played a lot of domestic matches with Indian players. I’ve been communicating with Rahul Dravid sir throughout the previous two series. I haven’t spoken with Rohit Sharma much, but on this tour, I’ve heard him talk about how to bat in various conditions. “That boosts my confidence,” Patidar stated.

“I bat aggressively and have done so since I made my domestic cricket debut. I’m used to playing this way and haven’t changed much. “I’m learning how to handle field placements from Rohit Sharma,” Rajat Patidar added.

When asked about learning cricket from Virat Kohli, the batter stated that there was a lot to learn by observing him. Patidar claimed that when Virat Kohli bats in the nets, he stands behind and focuses on his technique.

“Whenever Virat Kohli bats in the nets, I stand behind him to monitor his moves. Patidar said, “I am constantly working on improving his footwork and body movement against the balls pitched up to him.”
