India had a comfortable victory over their archrivals Pakistan on Saturday, October 14 at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. Pakistan team was criticised after their humiliating loss against the Men in Blue. During the match Pakistan wicketkeeper batter Mohammad Rizwan was dismissed and as he was going back to the pavilion some fans chanted some Hindu hymns of ‘Jai Shree Ram ’ while he was going. The video went viral on social media and Pakistani fans and journalists slammed the Indian fans for the reason.

Another incident happened when some fans used slang during the match as well. That made the journalists and experts bash the fans and they complained about the very event to the Cricket Governing Body. As they wanted a solution for that. Now, former World Cup winner Irfan Pathan has disclosed an event that occurred with him in the match against Pakistan in Peshawar. The former all-rounder was hit by a nail thrown from the crowd which struck right under his eyes. He could have lost his eyesight and slammed the Pakistan Cricket Board for condemning the Indian Board.

After their loss against India team director Mickey Arthur complained about not playing ‘Dil Dil Pakistan’ often during the match. He believes that it was more of an Indian Cricket Board event rather than a Cricket Governing Body event.

We were playing a game in Peshawar when a fan threw a nail at me: Irfan Pathan

Speaking during India’s match against Bangladesh, Pathan stated, “We were playing a game in Peshawar, when a fan threw a nail at me, which struck me under my eye. I could have gotten seriously injured. The match was halted for 10 minutes, but we did not pay any heed to it as we were playing good cricket.”

After his comments former India opener Aakash Chopra tweeted backing his teammate saying, “Didn’t know that fans in Peshawar threw a nail at Irfan, which hit him under the eye. Remember the game getting stopped for a bit bcoz of fan trouble but it’s only today I got to know the exact reason. Well done, @IrfanPathan for keeping the big picture in mind. Love you, bro.”
