Virat Kohli will be in action for India in the upcoming Asia Cup edition. After the England tour, he took a rest from both the West Indies and Zimbabwe tours. However, as per reports, the selectors wanted him to be a part of the tours. But, Virat himself wanted to take a break before this upcoming Asia Cup.

Since 2019, Virat Kohli failed to replicate his best form with the bat. He failed to score a hundred for India across any format. Hence, he will look to make it big in the next Asia Cup only. Ahead of this competition, Virat Kohli opened up on his game awareness.

“I know where my game stands” – Virat Kohli

Speaking on the Star Sports show ‘Game Plan, Kohli said that he is all aware of his current situation with the bat. He will look to learn from the current phase and emerge as a better cricketer. He said: “I know where my game stands and you cannot run this far in your international career without having the ability to counter situations and counter conditions and counter different kinds of bowling. So, this, for me, is an easier phase to process, but I don’t want to put this phase behind me,”

Kohli also added that he is quite confident in his abilities. He will come out of this phase and will be scoring runs again in a consistent manner. “I want to learn from it and I want to understand what are the core values that I have, as a sportsperson and as a human being. As long as I’m ticking those boxes, I know there are ups and downs, and when I come out of this phase, I know how consistent I can be” Virat said.

“My experiences are sacred to me. Whatever I have experienced in this phase or in the past, as well, one thing that I can vouch for, is that I have never valued myself more as a person,” Virat Kohli concluded. He will be in action in the Asia Cup on 28 August 2022 when India will take on Pakistan in UAE.
