‘I want to play for Chennai again’ -Suresh Raina gets emotional during Chennai vs Kolkata game

Also known as MR. Indian T20 League, Suresh Raina was one of the biggest players in the history of the tournament. However, mediocre performance in the last season meant that Chennai released him ahead of the mega auction. Raina fans were heartbroken by the veteran going unsold in the mega auction. Many felt that Chennai could have bid for him just to pay respect to the legendary cricket who has served the franchise for such a long time. Raina is the highest run-scorer for the team with 5529 runs in 200 games.
Meanwhile, after going unsold, Raina joined the commentary team. He made his commentary debut during the Chennai vs Kolkata match. In the pre-match show, Raina got emotional and said he wants to play for Chennai again. The video of Raina getting emotional soon went viral and many fans started commenting on that saying that he deserves to play for the franchise once again.

Meanwhile, Chennai had a tough outing in the Indian T20 League 2022 opener and lost by six wickets. The team could only muster 131 in their 20 overs which was easily wiped out by the Kolkata team. However, Chennai fans had something to cheer about MS Dhoni turned back the clock and made a blistering half-century.
