‘If Kohli scores century against SA, I’ll pay INR 100’: Fans bet on Virat Kohli’s 71st century

Former Indian captain Virat Kohli, who was India’s all-format captain just a few months ago, have now left all forms of leadership. He stepped down as T20I and Test captain, while was removed as ODI captain.
Kohli’s form with the bat has not been great either. The veteran last scored a hundred in 2019 and since then has not been able to match the standards he set. India and South Africa are currently involved in a three-match ODI series, the first of which is being played at Boland Park in Paarl today.
With the pressure of captaincy off his back, Kohli’s fans are expecting the King to be back at his brutal best. Some fans even are betting on the probability of Kohli scoring a century in the first game. Few have promised to send money to everyone if Kohli scores a century in the 1st ODI. When Kohli last played an ODI series in South Africa, he was India’s highest run scorer and scored three hundreds in five games thus the probabilities are not very low. Whole of India is expecting Kohli to end his lean patch and roar like a Lion.
South Africa have opted to bat first after winning the toss thus the fans will have to wait for the second inning to see if their wish comes true or not. Meanwhile, here are some of the Tweets.
