The Indian cricket team has not been so lucky in the semifinals in the history of the ODI World Cup 2023. After having a stunning performance throughout the league stages of the tournaments, India has been knocked out of the ODI World Cup 2023 before reaching the finals in the semi-final stage of the tournament multiple times.

India will once again participate in the semifinals of the ODI World Cup 2023, against New Zealand at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on 15 November. Previously India were knocked out of the ODI World Cup 2019 by New Zealand in the semi-final.

India will be participating in the semifinals of the ODI World Cup once again for the eighth time and has qualified for the semifinals of the tournament for the third consecutive time after 2015 and 2019. Out of the seven games India has already participated in the semifinals, they managed to win only three times in 1983, 2011 and 2003.
