Star India batter, Rishabh Pant met with a devastating car accident last year in December and got a lot of injuries to different body parts. But the 25-year-old is getting fit very quickly and the Indian Cricket Board and their medical staff are very surprised to see that. Recently, the youngster put a post on social media with the caption: “Not bad yaar Rishabh,” and provided an update on his health.

According to the reports by ESPNcricinfo, the Indian Cricket Board is trying its best to fast-track Pant’s rehabilitation in order to prepare him for the ODI World Cup this year. Pant’s recovery is likely to take longer. However, Pant has not been affected by the possibility of not playing cricket in 2023, as he has recently begun to walk without crutches and climb stairs without assistance.

VVS Laxmanman taking sessions at NCA to keep players’ morale high

The report further stated that under the guidance of physio S Rajnikanth, the batter is working on strengthening his upper body and lower body by doing mobility exercises. Rajnikant has worked with a lot of players and worked with the Delhi Capitals as well in the Indian Premier League. He has helped Indian cricketers like Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, and M Vijay when they were undergoing rehabilitation.

It is believed that Pant is doing aqua therapy, light swimming, and table tennis sessions with his rehab. Additionally, he has been participating in interactive sessions with male and female age-group cricketers, who have been attending NCA training camps. To help break up the monotony and boost the morale of young cricketers, NCA chief VVS Laxman has led these sessions.

In December 2022, Pant last appeared on an India tour of Bangladesh. While Pant’s absence from the field has been extremely disappointing, it is understood that he has kept himself occupied and optimistic by watching the World Test Championship final with some of the other India players undergoing rehabilitation at the NCA, including Jasprit Bumrah, Shreyas Iyer, and Prasidh Krishna.
