Team news

Bangalore

Bangalore’s batting was up to the mark in the first game against Punjab as they amassed 205 runs on the board. However, their bowling lacked venom and they would possibly drop Akash Deep and replace him with experienced Siddharth Kaul.

Unavailable players: Glenn Maxwell and Josh Hazlewood are currently unavailable due to various reasons Maxwell recently got married while Hazlewood is in Pakistan, although he has been rested for the white-ball games.

Probable XI- Faf du Plessis (c), Virat Kohli, Anuj Rawat, Dinesh Karthik (wk), Sherfane Rutherford, Shahbaz Ahmed, Wanindu Hasaranga, David Willey, Harshal Patel, Siddharth Kaul, Mohammed Siraj

Key players

Faf du Plessis : The newly appointed skipper of the Men in Red and Black will be a key player in the game. The right-hander showed his rich vein of form in the game against Punjab with an innings of 88 runs.

Mohammed Siraj: The right-arm pacer went for 59 runs in the first game against Punjab. However, he has the ability to come back with a fearsome bowling performance.

Kolkata

The team had a great start with a win against Chennai in the opening game of the season. They won’t be looking to make any change in their winning combination as they excelled in all departments of the game.

Unavailable players : The team is currently missing the services of Aaron Finch and Pat Cummins. Finch is leading the Australia team in the white-ball games in Pakistan while Cummins has been rested for the series.

Probable XI- Venkatesh Iyer, Ajinkya Rahane, Shreyas Iyer (c), Nitish Rana, Sam Billings, Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Sheldon Jackson (wk), Umesh Yadav, Shivam Mavi, Varun Chakravarthy

Key players

Venkatesh Iyer : The left-hander can destroy the bowling attacks at will. Last year, he batted without fearing the reputation of the bowler.

Sunil Narine: The mystery spinner can outfox the best players. The batters haven’t been able to find a way of counter attacking him.

Pitch Report: The pitch at the D.Y Patil might assist the bowlers in the first innings due to the presence of grass. As this will be a night match, dew is expected to affect the second half of the game.
